July 20, 2026 SAN DIEGO – The Invictus Games San Diego 2029 Bid congratulates Daejeon, Republic of Korea on being named the host the Invictus Games 2029 by the Invictus Games Foundation (IGF) today. In its press release, IGF noted that it was “a very competitive international bidding process” among the three finalists: San Diego, USA; Aalborg, Denmark; and Daejeon, Republic of Korea. Daejeon will become the first city in Asia to host the Games.

San Diego’s bid – championed by the City of San Diego and the British American Business Council (BABC) San Diego – was one of six cities asked to submit Expressions of Interest last year, and one of three finalists named to the shortlist in December 2025.
